Family Sushi Takeout & Delivery

Real Edomae Sushi for the Adults, Things Everyone Will Eat for the Kids

Weeknight dinner with kids in Manhattan is a math problem. One person wants real sushi, one person wants something cooked, one person wants edamame and only edamame, and nobody wants to spend an hour cooking. Atto Sushi delivers across Midtown East, the Upper East Side, Lenox Hill, Murray Hill, Sutton Place, Turtle Bay, and Kips Bay through Toast — and the menu is built to solve exactly that problem in one order.

How to Order for a Family

The most efficient family order looks something like this: one chef-selected nigiri platter for the adults (or for the kids who already eat raw fish), a couple of cooked rolls, a side of shrimp tempura, edamame, miso soup, and a house salad. Add a serving of rice or two for the kid who just wants plain rice and chicken-or-shrimp-only sushi. Everybody gets fed; nobody negotiates.

If you have a kid who eats sushi but only specific pieces — salmon nigiri, tuna roll, that's it — order those à la carte alongside the platter. The full menu is available on Toast for individual pieces.

For the Adults at the Table

Once the kids are sorted, the grown-ups can eat real sushi. Select fish at Atto are aged in-house under controlled temperature and humidity, drawing on Edomae curing and aging traditions — the aged tuna varieties in particular travel surprisingly well and are worth ordering as a small luxury inside the family order. Toro tartare, yellowtail carpaccio, and a sashimi platter all hold up beautifully in delivery containers. Pair with a beer or a small bottle of sake (sake by the bottle on request; call (845) 421-4967 for availability).

Timing the Order Right

For a weeknight family dinner, order 45–60 minutes before you actually want to eat — allowing for delivery time and the inevitable "we'll be there in five minutes" stretch. The fish is best within 20–30 minutes of delivery. If anyone is going to want leftovers, sashimi and cooked rolls hold up overnight better than nigiri does (rice is the limiting factor).
